This was made possible by Professor Blackstone, giving us ample opportunities to practice our public speaking in front of our classmates. I also took the opportunity to be my team's project speaker, giving myself more chances of getting used to the stage frights and nerves. I felt that during my final project presentation, even while feeling nervous and anxious, I was able to hold down the fort and keep my cool throughout. I would not have been able to pull through if it wasn't for the vast amount of practice we had for this module. Outside of the...

How Flying Robots Might Prevent Illegal activities happening in the Forest  - Summary Analysis Draft #4 MEC1281 Summary Analysis Draft #4  By Alexander Quah 1st Feb 2021 According to the article  “The Flying Robot Might Prevent Deforestation” by Morgen Peck ( 2012), flying drones were a possible key in acting as a lookout to prevent and stop illegal activities in a forest. In Brazil, illegal deforestation and fires were some of the events affecting the rainforest. Due to low-level surveillance in the rainforest, drug trafficking and mining were also easier to execute. As such, Peck (2012) proposed   the use of Quadrotor drones to navigate through the rainforests, acting as a lookout for illegal activities that are happening. The article had outlined the advantages of using Quadrotor drones in 2012 as they were able to fly from side to side, avoid obstacles and even learn to adapt to changes on the go. Additionally, Quadrotor drones were able to sense the...

Task 3b: My interpretation of Gilbert Amelio's message

"Developing excellent communication skills is absolutely essential to effective leadership. The leader must be able to share knowledge and ideas to transmit a sense of urgency and enthusiasm to others. If a leader can't get a message across clearly and motivate others to act on it, then having a message doesn't even matter." -Gilbert Amelio, President and CEO of National Semiconductor Corp This is my interpretation of the quoted paragraph: According to Gilbert Amelio (AZQuotes, n.d), to be an effective leader, communication skills are vital. Not only must the leader be able to convey messages accurately, but the leader should also inspire and spur others into action. If unable to do so, the leader has failed to be efficient and effective. Signing off, Alexander Quah
